General Information

The Sandpoint Lacrosse Club is a volunteer run nonprofit 501c3 organization providing youth athletes in the Sandpoint area an opportunity to learn and play the sport of lacrosse. We offer teams for four age groups from U-11 (under the age of eleven) through High School.

Lacrosse is primarily a spring sport with the High School team starting in the middle of February, and the youth teams starting in the middle of March. We also play drop in lacrosse in the summer where anyone interested in playing is welcome free of charge.

This site offers online registration for all four of the youth programs. Dues are due at the start of the practice season. The amount charged to play is assessed annually and decided upon based on the previous season's budget, and the number of athletes we expect to register. Currently dues for High School is $200, U-13 and U-15 is $150, and U-11 is $125. There is also a raffle each season for which participation is mandatory. Again, this is an entirely volunteer run organization, so all dues, donations, and revenue from any sales are allocated to the experience we provide our players.

Equipment is the responsibility of the players. That said, we do have 36 sets of rental equipment for the U-15, U-13, and U-11 athletes, that were received from a US Lacrosse grant. There is a charge and a deposit for this equipment based on projected replacement costs over time. This equipment is first come, first serve. There is a gear exchange on this site where players can post their used equipment for sale. We will also work to help you find the gear you need for the best available price. We are committed to keeping lacrosse as affordable as possible.

The High School program consists of Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. They begin practice in the middle of February and games in the middle of March. Varsity plays an average of 15-20 games per year while JV plays 10-15. Depending on the number of players registered, there will occasionally be athletes that play both JV and Varsity. Practices are Monday through Friday and some weekend days for special teams. Games are played throughout the week and on some weekends. The season ends by the first of June. Travel to the games are the responsibility of the players and can be as far as Missoula, Montana, and the Tri-Cities area.

U-11, U-13, and U-15 are run at the same times with the U-11 group practicing separately. U-15, and U-13 will begin practice in the middle of March with practices held three days per week. These two teams will practice together, but separate to play games. These teams play weekend tournaments and travel as far as Missoula and Kalispel, Montana, each season. Practice begins mid March and play is through mid June. Travel to tournaments is the responsibility of the players.
